Rethinking Behavior
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Texas at El Paso and then my Master of Education (M.Ed.)/Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I have over seven years of experience working with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings. For the past four years, I gained experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum, tailoring the science of Applied Behavior Analysis to each client with goals of independence, enhanced social skills, and overall life satisfaction. I am passionate about preparing my clients for situations both inside of the home and in their daily lives.
When working with children and adolescents, I tend to use an action-based, values-driven approach with acceptance and mindfulness strategies to increase psychological flexibility, identify helpful and unhelpful behaviors and improve self-esteem so they can live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling to them. Therapy sessions can focus on helping navigate daily obstacles, developing positive coping methods, as well as boosting self-confidence, and working towards an optimistic future. Sometimes, the whole family may need support while trying to communicate, learn and create boundaries so I can facilitate that as well. I am flexible with scheduling and do my best to accommodate appointments to meet the needs of children and their caregivers with busy lifestyles. Contact me for a free consultation to determine if therapy will meet your needs and if I will be a good fit for you and your precious child.
